The Mediterranean route through the Rif, with its breathtaking scenery, gives us the chance to observe close up some of the biodiversity of this region.
The route starts at Tetouan, and at first the road passes beside the Western Rif, through the region of Ghomara. The second part penetrates the Central Rif to reach the coast beside Al Hoceima. The entire area is characterised by its ever-changing, untameable nature that links forests to arid areas and high mountains to the beaches with their crystal-clear waters.
The route passes beaches and fishing villages including Martil, Oued Laou, Targha and Stehat, and then continues along the Rif mountains before returning to the coast at El Jebha and then into the province of Al Hoceima. It crosses the region of Benigmil across the pass of Tazguit and offers breathtaking landscapes before reaching the beach of Cala Iris.
After crossing the Oued Badis, one comes to the National Park and finally the city of Al Hoceima.
