The Tangier-Tetouan-Alhoceima region has one of the finest and most beautiful coastlines in the world, benefiting from a unique geographical position that offers access to both the Atlantic and Mediterranean.
On the Mediterranean coasts, the beaches extend from Tangier all the way to Al Hoceima, alternating between fine sand and cliffs that extend into stony coves ideal for diving. On the one hand there are charming fishing villages on the small scale of Ksar Sghir, and on the other hand there are world-class resorts like those of the Tamuda Bay area.
The Atlantic coast stretches from Tangier to Larache. Its beaches are of fine white sand and are very wide; some of these beaches are wild, constantly buffeted by the ocean waves. The Atlantic beaches are much appreciated by surfing enthusiasts because of their orientation toward the west.
The beaches can be visited all year round due to the temperate climate which the region enjoys in all seasons. This holds true for sports, pleasant walks by the sea, relaxing in the sun, or feasting on grilled food.
Some of the most famous beaches of the region are Quemado, Cala Iris, Sidi Mghayt, and Kaf Lahmam.
